Program Introduction

The Women Empowerment and Mentorship Program (WEMP) is a structured faculty support initiative introduced in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) to promote women empowerment, leadership development, and professional growth within higher education institutions.

The program is designed to create a supportive mentoring environment where women faculty and staff members are guided by experienced mentors to enhance their academic, professional, and leadership capacities. Through mentoring relationships, structured guidance, and institutional support, WEMP aims to strengthen confidence, career progression, and active participation of women in academic leadership and decision-making roles.

Program Objectives

  1. Systematically introduce mentorship and develop mentor/mentee relationships among academics and students in Pakistani universities.
  2. Develop leadership skills, support professional development, career advancement, achieve a healthy work-life balance, and provide networking opportunities for mentees.
  3. Cultivate a supportive community for all employees within HEIs.
  4. Provide networking opportunities for the mentees to connect with and shadow other students or professionals in their field, and create collaboration opportunities, where mentees can share research ideas.

Program Coordination

At Aror University, the implementation and coordination of the Women Empowerment and Mentorship Program (WEMP) is carried out in accordance with the guidelines provided by the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

Ms. Aqsa Ahad has been nominated as the Focal Person for the Women Empowerment and Mentorship Program (WEMP) at Aror University. She will be responsible for coordinating program activities, facilitating mentorship processes, and ensuring effective implementation of the program across the institution.
