Instructional Design and Constructive Alignment
The first day of the faculty and ALI staff training at the LLI focused on strengthening participants’
understanding of instructional design, with particular emphasis on constructive alignment.
Participants explored how course learning outcomes, teaching and learning activities, and
assessment strategies must be coherently aligned to enhance student learning. The day also
included microteaching sessions, allowing participants to apply instructional design principles in
a practical setting and receive constructive expert and peer feedback.
